Ester Maiorani Project -

The Ester Maiorani Project was born from a desire to turn introspection and personal growth into sound. Led by pianist, singer and composer Ester Maiorani, the acoustic ensemble includes piano and voice, drums (Piergiorgio Colonna), bass (Aro Ramamonji), saxophone (Pierre-André Miserez), flute (Laurie Christen), and backing vocals (Alice Ballinari and Mathilde Buta).

All songs are written and arranged by Ester, blending contemporary pop with jazz and funk influences and a subtle classical orchestral touch. The project embraces an acoustic and organic aesthetic, free of electronic elements, emphasizing the energy of live sound and the emotional dialogue between the musicians.

Inspired by composers such as Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, later Jacob Collier, and many others from all her music paths, Ester’s music balances theatrical expressiveness with intimate reflection. Each composition mirrors a personal experience — a musical diary that intertwines emotion, vulnerability and artistic refinement.

The ensemble is currently working on its debut album, scheduled for 2026, produced independently. Recent performances include shows at the EJMA Lausanne and at the Satellite (EPFL) for the Jam opening. The project is also part of a DoubleJazz coaching program supported by the Migros Cultural Foundation, in Switzerland, under the mentorship of singer, pianist and composer Yumi Ito.
